Oliver Rose, Senior Operations Manager – De-Veg
Olli is our Senior Operations Manager for the De-Veg division – the heart of the business and the foundation DES was built on. Originally from North Yorkshire, he brings a decade of highways experience and a deep understanding of operational delivery within high-pressure environments. Since joining DES, he has progressed from Contracts Manager to Operations Manager and now Senior Operations Manager, reflecting both his capability and commitment. He plays a crucial role in protecting the standards, quality, and safety culture that define the vegetation side of the business.
Olli spent over 10 years with Balfour Beatty Connect Plus Services on the M25 network, operating within a structured Tier One environment. That experience gave him strong operational discipline, programme management skills, and a clear understanding of quality and compliance within highways infrastructure. He later chose to move into a family-run business environment where he could have greater impact and contribute more directly to shaping the direction of a growing company.
As Senior Operations Manager for de-veg, Olli is responsible for overseeing day-to-day delivery, managing teams, maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring safety remains central to every project. He leads from the front, balancing firmness with fairness and is known for being approachable while maintaining high expectations. His corporate experience strengthens structure and compliance, while his people-focused leadership style supports team development and morale. Given that DVEG is where DES began, his role carries significant responsibility in safeguarding the core of the business and driving it forward.
