Leanda Clarke, Accounts Lead
Leanda is the Accounts Lead at Direct Enviro Services and plays a fundamental role in both the business and the family behind it. As a family-run company, her influence reinforces the values DES is built on – people first, high-quality standards, accountability and integrity. She became involved in the business seven years ago, initially supporting where needed before stepping fully into the company and later becoming a shareholder. Her commitment, discipline and passion for the business make her a central pillar of its continued growth and stability.
Leanda’s background is both impressive and diverse. She was an amateur jockey, the highlight of her career was riding for prestigious owner JP McManus at the Cheltenham Festival. Following her racing career, she trained and qualified as a certified osteopath, demonstrating focus, resilience and a strong work ethic. She later trained in accounts, building her financial expertise independently and applying that knowledge directly within DES.
As Accounts Lead, Leanda oversees the company’s financial management, ensuring accuracy, structure, and control across all processes. Her self-taught commercial understanding, attention to detail and disciplined approach strengthen the business’s financial foundations. Beyond the technical role, she brings stability, organisation and high standards that support the wider team and uphold the quality-driven culture of DES.
Leanda is at the heart of DES – a shareholder, a leader within the business and the steady foundation behind a proud family-run company, while also balancing her most important role as a dedicated mother to two daughters alongside husband, Will.
