Investing in our people to create a better future.

We are a company that likes to invest in our staff and encourage development throughout their journey with us. We are continually maintaining up-to-date qualifications and supply funding for any courses our staff need to complete and improve our services.

The team at DES Ltd consists of at least a dozen members, all from the local area.  We may be relatively small compared to other highway maintenance companies, but we are full of quality and local expertise.

All ground staff and machine operators are fully trained and competent to complete the vast range of services our company provides.

Expertise & Professionalism

Our staff have the following tickets and certificates to demonstrate their competency:

Nurturing Well-being in the Workplace

We also have a modern slave policy in place in line with government guidance and a mental health and wellbeing policy within the company, to ensure we are fully equipped to help manage our staff and their mental well-being during their time with us, without our incredible team we wouldn’t be the company we are today!

Protecting the Environment

We are continually developing new methods and ideas to help reduce our carbon footprint and uphold the latest biodiversity regulations.

Charity

Here at DES Ltd we try to support the local community and environment whenever possible.  We help our local cricket team maintain their grounds and hedges, we donate woodchip to a few local schools throughout the year, we also help maintain the grounds of our local Demelza house and this year we sponsored a local calendar for cancer research UK.

We were grateful to receive a handwritten thank-you note from cancer research UK:

“Dear Will, I’m writing on behalf of Cancer Research UK to thank you and DES so much for your kind support of the Amey Kent Highways Calendar as their main sponsor.  This is such a lovely gesture and I know it means a lot to the Amey team, as it does to us.  Every penny counts in the fight against cancer, I love the calendar – they’ve done a great job with all the photos! What a beautiful part of the world you all live in.  Sending our heartfelt thanks to you.  We really appreciate this.  With our very best wishes, CL.

P.S Over the last two years, Amey has raised over £235,000 to support our work.  We’re very proud of what they’ve collectively achieved.  Thank you for your contribution to this success.”
